Dennis D. Swanson
Dennis D. Swanson is vice president of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in India. He is responsible for growing and repositioning Boeing’s defense, space and security business in India. Swanson is also responsible for new sales opportunities, ensuring delivery on customer commitments and strengthening engagement with our industry partners.
Swanson began his career with Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 1989 and he held various positions within BCA and BDS, including managing Industrial Participation programs and leading supplier management activities. For 16 years, Swanson contributed to Boeing’s expansion into international markets by scoping new business opportunities, managing complex industrial projects and establishing key relationships in markets such as India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
Swanson’s association with India goes back to 1999 when he managed supplier management and procurement efforts for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in India. He was part of the team that began engaging with Indian suppliers and placed offset contracts with Boeing’s key suppliers in the country.
Prior to his role managing India, Swanson was regional director for Industrial Participation Programs in the Middle East and Africa region for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). He was responsible for the development and implementation of industrial engagement programs undertaken in support of sales of BDS products and services in these regions.
Swanson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and a Master of International Business Degree from Saint Louis University.
