Pratyush Kumar is president Boeing India and vice president Boeing International. Based in New Delhi, Kumar is Boeing’s most senior in-country leader responsible for development and execution of the company’s strategy in India. He aligns business priorities, expands Boeing’s footprint, develops customer relationships, and builds partnerships with industry and government stakeholders in the region.

Before joining Boeing in 2012, Kumar was the president & CEO of GE Transportation, South Asia and president & CEO of GE Infrastructure in India which included Aviation, Energy, Water, Oil & Gas and Transportation businesses of GE in the region. Kumar joined GE in 2003 and worked for GE Transportation, first as the leader for global marketing in the United States before his role in India.

Prior to GE, he founded a Boston based biotech company in 2002. Kumar started his career in 1994 as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, working in their Atlanta and New Delhi offices

. Kumar is the chairman of FICCI’s Aviation Committee, chairman of ASSOCHAM’s cyber security council, and a member of the Executive Council of the Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) between India and the United States. He also serves on the board of Aerospace & Aviation sector Skills Council, CII’s defense committee and The Energy & Resources Institute’s (TERI) advisory board.

Kumar earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a doctorate in materials engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he was an Industry Collegium Fellow under the Leaders for Manufacturing Program.
